Seth Goldman
Seth Goldman is President and "TeaEO" of Honest Tea, the company he founded in 1998 with Professor Barry Nalebuff of the Yale School of Management. Since 2002 Honest Tea has been the best-selling brand of bottled tea in the natural foods industry, distributed through more than 10,000 outlets including Whole Foods and Target stores. In 1999 Honest Tea became the first company to market a certified organic bottled tea; today the entire product line is certified organic by the USDA. Honest Tea has initiated supplier partnerships with a Native American community, a South African community and in 2003 Honest Tea introduced the first Fair Trade bottled tea. The company has an annual compound growth rate of 66% and been repeatedly ranked on Inc.’s list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the United States. Seth is an advisory board member of Net Impact (formerly Students for Responsible Business), Environmental Leadership Program, and Pennsylvania Certified Organic. In 2007 he initiated efforts to create the Bethesda Green Zone, a private-public partnership will implement and showcase sustainable practices in the Bethesda, Md. business district.
